Evan Kuhlmann is a passionate music educator who has been teaching students of all ages professionally for over 15 years. Evan currently serves on the faculty of the Colburn Community School of Performing Arts, having previously instructed at Azusa Pacific and Portland State Universities. He has taught masterclasses at schools including California State University - Fullerton, the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, Interlochen Arts Academy, University of Denver, University of Missouri - Kansas City, and University of Oregon. He maintains a private teaching studio, works regularly with students from the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles, and is fortunate to have worked with students in the past through such programs as Bassoons Without Borders, BRAVO Youth Orchestras, the Filarmónica Joven de Colombia, Marrowstone Music Festival, Metropolitan Youth Symphony, and Music Camps @ Wallowa Lake

A beneficiary of many scholarship programs himself, Evan is proud to offer and support student financial aid. He has never turned away a student for reasons of financial hardship and does not intend to, prioritizing instead the accessibility of quality instruction for any serious student demonstrating the desire to learn and willingness to work diligently. Students interested in lessons may submit an inquiry through the Colburn School, or email Evan directly at kuhlbassoon at gmail dot com
